Motor overload button / thermal cutout for protection of motors used in older Hoover large model washing machines. Used on old 500 series, 600 series, 700 series 6kg machines with large cast gearbox and base mounted motor.

This part has three terminals, but can be used to replace earlier 2 terminal cutouts.
